| Several months ago, you took
a survey about the Barr-Harris web site. Thank you for taking the time
to do that; the results will be useful to us.
Here are some of the results:
The survey was filled out by a variety of
people: people of all ages and racial/ethnic backgrounds. More women
than men responded. Almost all lived in the U.S., but one was in
Europe and one in Asia. Some were teachers or mental health
professionals; some had had personal experience with the loss of a
parent.
You were asked to agree or disagree with
statements about the site. Agree-disagree was scored as follows:
1 = Strongly disagree
2 = Disagree
3 = Agree
4 = Strongly agree
We calculated the average for each statement.
The higher the average, the greater the agreement with the statement.

Here are some suggestions for improving
the site and our answers.
Provide information on jobs
and volunteer opportunities.
Barr-Harris is a very small agency and only
rarely has job openings. We don't use volunteers. We do have
internships for graduate students in social work and we listed them on
the site last spring for the following year.
List days and hours of
operation at each site.
That wouldn't be practical, as days and hours of
operation change.
Offer an opportunity to sign
up for an e-mail newsletter about events, etc.
This is a good suggestion and we will be
implementing it soon.
Keep web site up to date. I
noticed that you last updated pages in 2002.
Some pages, such as the page on the history of
Barr-Harris, don't need updating. Most pages are updated once a year,
if not more often. The staff have been reading books and have added
new book reviews to the site.
I need resources on the
blended family/step family issue that often follows divorce/loss
issues.
There are children's books on this topic. Check
with a children's librarian for suggestions.
If you have other suggestions for
improving the site, please e-mail the
webmaster.
Thank you again for answering the survey!
